The Vice President of Clinical Quality ensures the overall quality of clinical services delivered to patients across Home Health and Hospice. The Vice President of Clinical Quality will provide education and oversight of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) process, supporting branch offices in achieving high standards of care.
This role is responsible for monitoring regulatory clinical standards, compliance with accreditation requirements, and implementation of best practices. You will monitor, analyze, and enhance the Quality of Patient Care (QOPC) and patient experience metrics. Additionally, this position will strategically manage and lead Home Health and Hospice Value-Based Purchasing (HHVBP) performance and guide quality and satisfaction outcome trends.
Responsibilities:- Lead the development and oversight of clinical programs to assess their impact on the quality of care and outcome achievement; collaborate with operations leadership for understanding.
- Oversee the analysis of data, internal audit findings and processes, and education that support continual progress towards achieving quality assurance and performance improvement.
- Develop and coordinate training and process development for home health and hospice survey readiness, regulatory compliance, and clinical risk mitigation.
- Ensures the clinical department meets and adheres to all applicable federal, state, local, and accrediting agency requirements.
- Strategically find methods to control costs while safeguarding patient safety, preserving the high standard of care, and upholding the integrity of services rendered.
- Revise the annual QAPI work plan and present it to the governing body.
- Develop tools, resources, and processes relative to continuous quality processes and standards.
- Ensure policies and procedures are designed to fulfill objectives relative to the QAPI plan, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and present education to leaders, senior management, clinical teams, and the governing body.
- Assist with organization onboarding and training process and implementation, which includes pairing new leaders with mentors, assessing, and identifying talent, succession planning, and coaching.
- Maintain effective collaboration with senior management team; ensure adequate knowledge of branch status.
- Assist with the preparation of reports to executive leadership.
- Maintain a positive, supportive, and team-centered customer service approach in every interaction.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
- Monitor home health quality assessment only (QAO) reports.
- Monitor hospice quality reports and trends.
- Monitor, trend, and develop plans to improve publicly reported quality measures: including home health and hospice care compare data, HH Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS)-Home and Hospice, HIS, Hospice Care Index, real-time quality trends and value-based care quality outcomes.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze consistent clinical audit tools used to address areas of risk and track improvement.
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the department and team.
- Oversee direct reports to ensure timely completion of duties and responsibilities.

- Perform all counselings, evaluations, and supervisor-related functions timely.

- Ensure appropriate orientation and training is provided; identify and address performance deficiencies, manage performance improvement processes, as needed.

• RN License
• Home Health and Hospice Experience (not one or the other please)
• Director level or above clinical management experience
• Required 5 years of experience, preferred 10 years of experience
- Must be a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing or therapy. Must be licensed in the state in which they currently practice or in accordance with the board of nursing or therapy rules for licensure compact for the state in which they practice.
- Must have at least five years of demonstrated experience in Medicare-certified home health &hospice. Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the federal, state, and local laws and regulatory guidelines that govern a home care organization.
- Experience leading others concerning quality assurance and performance improvement
- Must have demonstrated experience related to quality assurance and performance improvement. Must have demonstrated experience in and an understanding of the outcome and assessment information set (OASIS) and the hospice item set (HIS) guidelines.
- OASIS certification preferred
- Data Analytics experience preferred
- Experience in both Home Health and Hospice is required
- Must possess a valid state driver's license
- Must maintain automobile insurance as required by law
