We are seeking a dedicated Freight and Logistics Specialist to join our team in the Automotive Manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our freight and logistics department. This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a competitive salary and benefits package. The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities
As a Freight and Logistics Specialist, you will be responsible for:
1. Coordinating and managing all freight and logistics activities, ensuring that all goods are shipped and delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
2. Developing and managing budgets for all freight and logistics operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
3. Handling material expediting tasks, ensuring that materials are delivered on time and in the correct quantities.
4. Negotiating contracts with freight carriers and logistics providers, ensuring the best possible terms and conditions.
5. Monitoring and tracking shipments, resolving any issues that may arise during the shipping process.
6. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
7. Collaborating with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain.
8. Creating and maintaining detailed records of all freight and logistics activities.
9. Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of service.
10. Identifying and implementing strategies for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our freight and logistics operations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Freight and Logistics Specialist position will have the following qualifications:
1. At least 2 years of experience in a freight and logistics role within the Manufacturing industry.
2. Proven experience in budgeting and material expediting.
3. Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to secure the best possible terms and conditions from freight carriers and logistics providers.
4. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
6. Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and other relevant software.
9. A degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
