JOB SUMMARY
The Production Associate is responsible for aiding the line leader with daily transactions and maintaining a safe, organized, clean and efficient operation on their production line. They must be able to proactively identify and analyze problems and recommend appropriate action to improve performance to the line Leader. They ensure that produce of the highest quality is made ready and available for the day’s runs at an acceptable productivity level.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs to standard rate for assigned production line and communicates to leadership when company standard is not met.
Be aware of production performance KPIs.
Maintains a safe and clean workspace. Ensures work area is washdown ready for sanitation to finish including the floor, tables, cutting boards, and equipment.
Maintains quality specifications of unfinished products.
Prepares, cuts, and repacks product per customers’ specifications.
Operates machinery such as potato peelers, bag sealers, and others.
Responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of the work area.
While adhering to sanitation and safety procedures for handling and production to SQF (safe quality food) standards.
Colleagues must follow GMPs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Prefer High School or GED but not required.
Experience
Related industry experience preferred.
General understanding of processing procedures preferred.
Experience working in a high-volume warehouse/production facility preferred.
Knowledge of GMP policy preferred.
Ability to use and handle sharp knife, peelers, and hand machines.
Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively.
Bi-lingual preferred
Limited computer skills
Willingness to learn lean Manufacturing processes.
Physical Demands
Able to lift and or move 25 lb. to 50 lb.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to stoop and bend frequently.
