The Town of Cohasset, an active waterfront community on the South Shore, is looking for a part time Front Desk Clerk for the Elder Affairs Department.The team at the Town of Cohasset is known for being dynamic and collaborative, and we truly enjoy what we do. General Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Elder Affairs Director, the Front Desk Clerk is responsible for welcoming community members to Willcutt Commons and providing assistance for program registration, fielding questions, assisting with administrative tasks and answering the phone.
The Front Desk Clerk exemplifies the inclusive and welcoming culture of Willcutt Commons by greeting visitors, residents, and staff with a warm demeanor. Primarily providing administrative assistance to Willcutt Commons, the Front Desk Clerk is an essential role to the success of the department.
Answers phone calls, check voicemail, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members.
Manages appointment scheduling for activities and services offered at the center.
Assists with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
Offer new visitors tours of the building
Aid the Director in preparing employee and volunteer appreciation documents
Assists with opening procedures including coffee set-up
Manages sign in for activity(ies) using a My Senior Center (MSC) scan card at the front desk kiosk.
Record the number of the new card at the top of the completed MSC form.
Teach new visitors how to sign into the MSC kiosk.
Minimumrequirements include:
A minimum of six months’ experience in an office setting. Data entry experience and computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel required. This staff member must be able to exercise a professional, engaging, and courteous approach to seniors and staff. Must be comfortable multi-tasking.
Salary:16 hours per week, Monday – Thursday (8:30 AM – 12:30 PM) PT-1 step 1 $16.20 hourly
