Job Description Summary:
The Coordinator, AIS is responsible for coordinating the patient’s visit to an Option Care Infusion Suite. This may include scheduling the patient, reviewing benefits and payment options, answering general questions and being a champion for the patient experience. This team member also provides administrative and operational support for the infusion suite.Job Description:
Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
- Assists in scheduling patients for appointments in AIS
- Facilitates patients completing onboarding paperwork
- Performs Insurance Verification of benefit coverage on all of patient's insurance plans for each service being provided and collects patient payments
- Provides an exceptional patient experience by greeting patient and maintaining a professional, organized, clean and welcoming reception/waiting area
- Assisting where needed to support overall clinic and patient needs
- Functions as a contact person between all members of the healthcare team to relay necessary information in order to coordinate patient needs.
- Depending on location, may include the following tasks in a correct and timely fashion under the supervision of a pharmacist or clinician:
- Collects and records laboratory values for pharmacist review; sends to prescriber as needed
- Makes follow-up calls with patients and/or their caregivers
- Assists with filing and updating patient charts. Documents contact with patients and other members of the healthcare team.
- Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary Option Care information.
- Accepts other responsibilities and duties that may be assigned.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience communicating both verbally (on phone, one-on-one, to groups) and in writing (emails, letters, reports,) to various audiences (work group, team, company management, external clients).
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Word 2003 or later (for example: such as: creating documents, entering, and formatting text, page layouts, creating tables, and adding graphics).
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel 2003 or later (for example: creating worksheets, entering data, creating basic formulas, working with cells and rows).
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)
- Prefers strong customer/patient service experience
- Prefers previous experience in a healthcare support role
- Prefers previous experience in general office administration
- Certified Pharmacy Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
