About the Job
General:
o Is secondarily responsible for all aspects associated with the overall operations of the
restaurant
o Maintains standards of service set forth by the General Manager & Ownership
o Monitors and make recommendations to the General Manager concerning all
subordinate staff
o Oversees all frontline staff to ensures they are each performing at their optimum level
Morale:
o Perceives employee morale and takes strides to ensure a positive working
environment is maintained
o Strives for open communication flow amongst all managerial & supervisorial staff
o Encourages staff and remains consistent in demeanor concerning the approach of
dealing with one staffer to the next
o Maintains positivity in high stress situations and leads by example
o Works to ensure there is a consolidated effort with other managers/supervisors in
relation to the approach in which we deal with staff
o United front with other managers in relation to any issues/qualms with staff
Training:
o Cofacilitates any interview for potential new hires with management
o Oversees the training of new departmental hires and new hire paperwork
o Responsible for gaging new hire progress and making recommendations when training
has been completed
o Monitors departmental employee performance in a given shift and on a long-term
basis
Food & Beverage Quality:
o Is the advocate of the guest in relation to any perceived issues with product
o Has the ability to overrule any other subordinate manager if quality of product to be
served isn’t perceived as consistent with our standards
o Constantly and consistently looks for ways to better the quality of product served
o Communicates all issues or perceived issues to the General Manager
Daily Opening Responsibilities:
o Performs a walkthrough before each shift to ensure the building is ready for service in
relation to the following:
o Floor Charts are completed
o AV is set
o Building is clean & door are unlocked
o Individual departments are set up and ready for service
o Facilitates pre-shift meeting
o Final walkthrough of building to ensure that minute details are all preformed such as
screens open, fire pit lit, tables balanced, Etc.
Daily Shift Responsibilities:
o Ensures that all departments are operating at their optimal levels and takes
appropriate actions if one or more are not
o Makes strides to diagnose potential issues before they become problems
o Monitors staff morale on a given shift and takes appropriate action if issues may arise
o Performs any role necessary to ensure we maintain our standards of service on a given
shift whether it be busser, server, host, expo bartender, Etc.
o Oversees staffing levels on a given shift and cuts staff accordingly based upon
business. If General Manager is presents, assists with staffing levels and makes
recommendations on when to cut staff
o Touches all tables in their designated section to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat
business
End of the night closing procedures:
o Nightly spreadsheet
o EDC
o Checkouts, cash verification
o Paid outs for the day
o Entering cash, print out of daily sales report and audit
Meetings:
o Attends all departmental and managerial meetings
o Is responsible for taking notes in the management meeting and emailing to ownership
o Presents new ideas and co-facilitates with the General Manager in meetings
o Formulates new ideas and that could potentially better our operations
New Hires:
o Responsible for the completion of all new hire paperwork
o Enters staff into Fresh Tech and Aloha
o Reports new hire dates and term dates (health insurance, payroll, accounting)
o Presents and explaining new hire paperwork, sending paperwork with appropriate
documentation to payroll
o Coordinates with the General Manager on training schedules
o Issues testing materials and ensures completion
Administrative:
o Responsible for auditing and submitting payroll on a weekly basis
o Imports labor into POS and payroll systems
o Reprints Receipts for guests
o Performs Refunds for guests
o Assists with the importation of recipes into 365
o Makes buttons to ensure all product is accounted for in the POS system
o Performs miscellaneous employee paperwork: welfare, child support, wage
verification
