Job Summary:
The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Social Responsibility Program Manager serves as the subject matter expert on and leads all aspects of Sysco’s Social Responsibility Program (SSRP). Specifically, the role is responsible for developing, implementing, reassessing, and ensuring internal and external compliance to SSRP. The role is responsible for communicating all aspects of the Program to all internal and external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the development, management, modification and reassessment of social responsibility policies, programs and procedures across the enterprise, through collaboration with other internal stakeholders (i.e. Sustainability, Ethics and Compliance, Legal, etc.).
Review SSRP routinely to assess results and effectiveness as well as alignment to Sysco’ s Supplier Code of Conduct. Ensure supplier and supplier facility compliance to the Sysco social responsibility requirements.
Assess, analyze and respond to changes in regulatory, legislative, non-government organizations, trade groups/industry associations, emerging issues and industry best practices that require potential changes to SSRP. Develop and implement plans to correct instances where non-compliance is occurring in collaboration with global teams.
Manage third-party social responsibility audit company relationships and timely execution of third-party partner deliverables.
Manage social responsibility audit outcomes including, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken, suspension of business relationships with supplier facilities when critical violations are identified. Collaborate with Sysco business functions and business entities on actions related to SSRP.
Manage technology platforms that support the capture, storage and issuing of social responsibility related data. Manage all documentation supporting SSRP such as audit results and corrective action plans, programs, communications, etc.
Collaborate and communicate with all internal and external stakeholders as SSRP subject matter expert and point of contact. Facilitate routine SSRP reporting to internal and external stakeholders, including Sysco’s annual Sustainability Report.
Represent Sysco as a social responsibility expert with regulators, non-government organizations, investors, trade groups/industry associations, customers, as well as other internal and external stakeholders. programs, communications, etc. Manage budget to ensure alignment with planned objectives.
Occasional/Marginal Job Duties:
Provide support, when necessary, with departmental goals and communication to other FSQA staff members.
Complete any other essential job functions as assigned by supervisor.
Participate in corporate meetings/functions.
Organizational Relationships:
Interfaces with FSQA and other Leadership teams, Sourcing, Marketing, Legal, Risk Management, Business Units, Sales, Sustainability, suppliers and customers.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in subjects such as international relations, human rights, employment law, or the social sciences and/or 5 years minimum experience in a related field of social compliances.
Technical Skills and Abilities:
Ability to prioritize resources, review deliverables and performance metrics and focus on executing results while holding self and others accountable.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, programs and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Displays problem solving, organizational and analytical skills which includes solution analysis and mobilization of resources.
Ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholder deliverables simultaneously.
Must operate with the highest levels of integrity and accountability, speak and act with complete honesty and trustworthiness.
