The AI Solutions group builds software to enable machine learning engineers to iterate on and rapidly deliver effective models. We have a suite of open-source tools that support teams throughout the AI development lifecycle - from versioning of massive datasets, effortless distributed training, automatic fault-tolerance and resource scheduling, and seamless deployment to production - allowing scientists to focus on their research instead of infrastructure management and boilerplate code.
We are a fast-moving, tight-knit group, working autonomously within the larger
Hewlett Packard Enterprise organization. As part of HPE, we have access to the largest computing clusters in the world, but our tools enable customers of all sizes to leverage the latest of generative AI to maximize their productivity: from scrappy startups trying to push the boundaries of AI, to large organizations that are deploying models that have massive business potential.
About this role
As a Full-stack Software Engineer, you will play a key role in defining how our
customers interact with our state-of-the-art AI applications. Your goal is to make seamless software for creating, improving, and putting in production large-scale deep learning models. You will have the opportunity to define major aspects of our products: you'll be expected to take on difficult problems without clear solutions and to design, build, and iterate until we've reached elegant solutions that delight our customers. You can work from anywhere in the United States.
Requirements
- You are eager to understand workflows for users of AI applications to
- create great experiences.
- You have experience facilitating conversations between engineering,
- product, and other internal stakeholders.
- You take pride in writing elegant, testable, and well-structured front-
- end code.
- You lead by example when helping others with code reviews, pair
- programming, and mentorship.
- 6+ years of experience designing and developing production software.
Preferred
- Experience with architecting maintainable web applications
- Experience building intuitive interfaces for enterprise software.
- Knowledge of or interest in machine learning, deep learning, analytics,
- and/or statistics.
- Experience with React, Typescript, and/or Go.
Our Engineering Process
We use two-week engineering sprints to strike the right balance between execution and evaluating priorities. We structure our collaboration around projects: The project lead is an individual contributor directly responsible for the execution of the project, including planning the technical solution, coordinating work with other engineers, and communicating progress to stakeholders. Engineering managers ensure that project leads at all levels of their careers have the support and guidance they need to fulfill these responsibilities effectively.
All code is reviewed by members of the team, following a specific set of guidelines to reduce ambiguity and drive to shipping efficiently. You can check out how we review code on our public repository. We run a full set of automated tests, both pre- and post-merge, to help ensure code correctness.
