Position Overview: The Athletic Maintenance Staff is responsible for maintaining the physical condition and appearance of all athletic facilities and equipment. This position ensures safe, clean, functional athletic environments for student activities and events. The flex-time schedule allows variable hours, including evenings and weekends, to support the school district's athletic programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs of athletic facilities, including fields, courts, gyms, and surrounding areas.
• Prepare facilities for athletic events, set up equipment, and ensure all areas meet safety standards.
• Conduct inspections of athletic areas to identify needs for repair or maintenance.
• Coordinate with the Athletic Director and other staff to prioritize maintenance tasks.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and athletic equipment.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment for various sports seasons.
• Ensure all athletic facilities comply with local, state, and district safety regulations.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed, including off-hours call-ins.
• Assist in developing and implementing maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training in facility maintenance or related fields is a plus.
• Proven experience in maintenance or a similar role, with specific experience in athletic facility maintenance preferred.
• Strong understanding of using and maintaining power tools and manual equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
• A commitment to providing a safe and effective athletic environment for students.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• The role requires frequent outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Must lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
