Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Lewisville, NC, in finding a Family Assistant for their family, which includes two parents and three daughters, ages 6, 4, and 2 years old. The weekly hours will vary, Monday - Friday, and will float between 30 - 40 + hours a week. There will be a guaranteed pay of 40 hours a week, at a minimum, each week.
This position requires flexibility, as the family's schedule can vary weekly. While the family aims to provide a week or two's notice for any changes, they understand that unforeseen circumstances may necessitate last-minute adjustments. Occasionally, the Family Assistant will be needed for date nights, special events, and weekend childcare and may also be asked to travel with the family. The family spends most of the summer at their Beaufort, NC, home and travels out west to Ski in the winter. The ability to accompany them during these trips would be a major plus.
The best Family Assistant for this family would be professional (but not overly formal), reliable, flexible, organized, and able to proactively anticipate the needs of a family and multiple homes. The Family Assistant would be responsible for taking care of the day-to-day needs of a family of 5, and helping the family manage four properties in NC (Lewisville, Banner Elk, Beaufort, and King) and one in Illinois (Evanston). Much of the management for the homes outside of Lewisville is handled by an Executive Assistant. However, the Family Assistant will be responsible for assisting with vendor management for each home, setting up the Beaufort or Banner Elk homes before the family’s arrival, organizing the homes as needed, and managing other special projects.
The family is looking for a Family Assistant who excels in organization, can proactively meet the needs of the family, and can provide excellent care to their children. A self-motivated and independent Family Assistant with a warm, positive, and approachable personality would be a great fit for this family. The family Assistant should be able to take direction easily from both parents, understand boundaries, and work to divide and conquer the day with the mom. It is important that the Family Assistant works as a team member with the parents, executive assistant, and other household staff to keep everything running smoothly.
The Family Assistant will be expected to come in and take care of the household tasks listed below and ensure that the other properties are properly managed. The mom is a stay-at-home mom and will be in and out of the home. She loves spending time with the children wherever she can and will be with them often. Each day, there would be a need for the Family Assistant to provide some childcare. Typically, when the mom takes one child to an activity and can not take the other children while she is running errands, attending events, or taking care of things. The Family Assistant would also be responsible for picking the older children up from school and taking them to sports practices as requested. While caring for the children, the Family Assistant should keep the children on their schedules, active and engaged, and participate in age-appropriate activities inside and outside of the home. A love of the outdoors is an important requirement for the Family Assistant. Their primary home in Lewisville is on 15 acres and they have goats, chickens, and a Tree House. It is important that the Family Assistant can use discretion, always keep the highest confidentiality standards, and be willing to sign an NDA.
Family Assistant Duties Include (The family has a weekly cleaner, weekly lawn care, periodic landscaping, and other service providers on a regular basis.)
Loading and unloading the dishwasher
Washing laundry for family and putting away
Manage dry cleaning
Making beds for the whole family
Assisting with meal planning and light cooking for the children and occasionally meal prepping for parents as well. Priority is meals for the children.
Vacuum the kitchen and eating area daily
Grocery shopping
Tidying up common areas and bedrooms on a daily basis
Managing household/property projects
Oversee and coordinate weekly cleaning service and other home vendors (lawn care, pool care, a/c, cable, etc.)
Scheduling and managing periodic yearly cleanings (porches, windows, patio power washing, etc.)
Opening and organizing mail and handling packages (receiving and shipping)
Coordinating family calendars and schedules
Keep an inventory of household items and maintain to-do lists for household and properties
Household organization projects
Coordinating vehicle maintenance
Packing or unpacking children’s travel bags (as directed)
Other general household errands
Coordinating and working with the dad’s Executive Assistant at work
Travel planning (a good amount of this is handled by their executive assistant)
Childcare, as requested
Picking up or dropping off children
Qualifications:
Have at least 3 years of professional Family Assistant experience
Have a college degree or equivalent experience
Have a professional resume

Have a valid driver’s license
Have safe and reliable transportation
Have a minimum of three professional references

The ability to swim, they have a pool in the backyard and visit the beach often
