Full Time Infant/Toddler Assistant Teachers - Trinity United Methodist Church

We are a Christian based Child Development Center seeking a passionate and dedicated Infant/ Toddler Assistant Teacher to join our Trinity Child Development Center family. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood development and a commitment to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves educating Infant/Toddler age children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive growth, and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Implement engaging lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages children's curiosity and creativity.
• Monitor and assess children's progress in various developmental areas, providing feedback to parents as needed.
• Facilitate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development among students.
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
• Ensure compliance with Alabama DHR Childcare Licensing requirements, including first aid protocols.
• Collaborate with other educators to support children with special education needs or those requiring additional assistance.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of early childhood education best practices.

Experience

• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with first aid procedures is beneficial for ensuring the safety of all students but not required.
• A background in infant/toddler care or babysitting can provide valuable insights into managing young children's needs effectively.

Qualifications:

• Must be reliable and dependable
• Work an 8 hr shift between 7:00am and 5:30pm Monday-Friday
• Meet all DHR Childcare Licensing requirements include ABI/FBI Background Check
• Must work well independently and as a team
• If not CPR certified, be willing to attain within 90 days of hire

• Students 6weeks through 5yo (School-Age Camp during the Summer)

Pay:

• From $13.00 to $14.00+ per hour depending upon position, education and experience.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday through Friday
