Lead Servers in our Healthcare Culinary Department at Bishop Gadsden (James Island, SC) ensure front of the house operations are productive and successful by monitoring and directing our service team.  The successful candidate will have compassion for and the desire to work with the elderly.

A Typical Day:

• Observe and ensure all employees are within Bishop Gadsden Dress and Appearance Policy.
• Ensure all sanitation and nutrition practices are followed
• Handle customer complaints in a professional and prompt manner
• Responsible for efficient operation of Frederick Dining Room
• Inspect and monitor completion of side work assignments
• Plan and conduct service meetings with employees.
• Adhere to all DHEC requirements.
• Assist with training new staff 
• Work with management to identify problem areas and work to help correct them, as directed.
• Promote teamwork and cooperation among staff and with other operational departments.
• Assist servers during meal service as needed.
• Work closely with Purchasing to ensure appropriate and accurate inventory levels are maintained. 
• Ensure all closing procedures are followed.

What We Need From A Candidate:

• Prefer high school education or equivalent
• Must have at least five years front of house experience
• Previous supervisory experience is ideal
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Pleasant appearance and attitude for daily interaction with residents, families, co-workers, and public.
• Possess basic computer skills
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written
• Ability to multi-task and deal with multiple customers at the same time
• Ability to learn and use a computerized POS (point of sale) system
• Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, and crawl and to lift and/or carry weights of up to 50 pounds
