Job Title: Functional Safety Engineer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Key Responsibilities:
- Board Design: Design functional boards, select components, create schematics, and perform tests.
- BOM Creation: Apply component selection techniques to create Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Design Optimization: Optimize digital, analog, and power supply designs (battery, DC-DC, AC-DC).
- Analysis & Testing: Conduct design analysis and prototype, test, and troubleshoot hardware.
- High-Speed PCB Design: Design multi-layer high-speed PCBs and support manufacturing.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior designers and guide them on best practices.
- Customer & Team Collaboration: Work closely with customers and project teams to align system design and progress reporting.
Performance Measures:
- Follow design processes and standards.
- Deliver multiple solutions with quick turnarounds.
- Ensure low defect rates and quick resolution of design issues.
- Comply with testing, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Meet project timelines and complete mandatory training.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in circuit design, analog/digital systems, and power supply.
- PCB design, testing, and compliance knowledge.
- Experience with design tools (Altium, Cadence) and debugging tools.
- 5 + years experience in functional safety design and analysis
- Experience with safety analysis and creation of DFA, DFMEA, FMEDA, FTA HARA
- Design Safety Electronics Electrical Hardware Products
- Familiarity and understanding of ISO26262, particularly parts 5, 8, and 9
