In our classic Mission experience, teams wearing hazmat suits go through a series of interactive game rooms, including a laser maze, before facing the World's Largest Paint Bomb! Our original Brooklyn location opened in 2018. We now have locations in Atlanta and Washington D.C. We've hosted over 300,000 players including hundreds of corporate team building outings, school groups, and non-profit organizations. Beat The Bomb is one of the highest rated experiences in all 3 markets. We offer a full range of special event services including STEM Camps, Kid and Adult Birthday parties, Corporate Tournaments, and Bachelorette parties. We also have a virtual team building platform called Beat The Bomb Virtual, serving remote teams across the globe. Our #1 goal is to ensure every player has a BLAST!
The Charlotte Location
Located on the border of the South End and LoSo neighborhoods of Charlotte, this will be the Company's 5th location, opening in Winter 2024. The 10,000+ square foot location offers our classic Mission experiences with glass-walled bomb rooms blasting teams with Paint, Foam and Slime; 4 immersive arcade lounges ('Game Bays'); street food and a full selection of beer, wine, cocktails & signature slushies @ The Bomb Bar; a beer garden with sports viewing; and dedicated private event spaces for large groups.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
This role presents an exciting opportunity for a motivated entry-level tech enthusiast to step into a growing career. If you've built a PC, worked in tech support, or have experience in a theater or entertainment setting, this position is for you. You'll have the chance to collaborate closely with our HQ team and showcase your skills while advancing your career.
- Tech Support: Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of various technical systems, including check-in computers, waiver tablets, POS systems, video and audio systems, lighting, Mission game rooms (such as the laser maze), Game Bays, Bomb Rooms (including the photo bomb system), server room, and overall network operations.
- Customer Experience: Support the guest experience by managing and addressing technical issues that arise, ensuring a smooth and immersive experience for our guests. When not addressing tech issues, perform guest-facing duties as a Game Runner.
- Maintenance: Conduct daily maintenance tasks, including cleaning computers, checking cable connections, and testing games. Ensure all hardware is in working order and address any issues promptly.
- Software and Inventory Management: Assist the HQ Tech team in keeping software up-to-date, debugging application issues, and testing game and software features. Manage tech inventory to ensure proper tracking and availability of spare equipment.
- Reporting and Facilities: Monitor and address tech issues identified in End-of-Day reports. Perform simple facilities maintenance tasks to ensure the space remains in good condition.

- Windows Experience: Comfortable working with Windows operating systems.
- AV Systems Familiarity: Knowledgeable in handling audiovisual systems.
- IP Networking Skills: Understands and sets IP addresses, with a grasp of IP networking.
- Remote Access Tools: Experienced with remote desktop tools such as TeamViewer or VNC.
- PC Hardware & OS: Skilled in replacing PC hardware and configuring operating systems.
- Problem-Solving: Adept at debugging hardware and software issues.
- Comfort with Mess: Not afraid to get a bit dirty-it's a paint blast facility, after all!
- Interest in Live Experiences & Digital Gaming: Passionate about live experiences and digital gaming.
- People Skills: Thrives on engaging with both teammates and customers, with a genuine love for people.
- Team Player: Ready to jump in and help wherever needed, demonstrating the ultimate teamwork.
