Gastroenterologist
We are seeking a fellowship-trained Gastroenterologist to join our well-established multispecialty group in Fall River, Massachusetts. This role involves providing top-tier care in gastrointestinal health, focusing on the management of diseases affecting the intestinal, hepatic, pancreatic, and biliary systems. You will be part of a dedicated team delivering comprehensive healthcare through advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a highly collaborative environment. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with expert healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and to further your expertise in both routine and complex gastroenterological procedures.
Compensation: DOE
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced medical care in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal diseases.
- Perform routine and complex endoscopic procedures including but not limited to colonoscopies, gastroscopies, and advanced interventional procedures.
- Handle outpatient consultations and procedures in our state-of-the-art endoscopy suite and manage complex cases at a nearby hospital facility.
- Offer inpatient consultative services in coordination with hospitalist teams.
- Work collaboratively with nurse practitioners, hospitalists, nursing staff, anesthesiologists, and pathologists to optimize patient treatment plans and outcomes.
- Utilize the latest in imaging and laboratory services to support and expedite patient care.
- Engage in continuous education and professional development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest advancements in gastroenterology.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Fellowship training in Gastroenterology.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a wide range of gastroenterological diseases.
- Proven expertise in conducting routine and advanced endoscopic procedures.
- Experience managing both outpatient and inpatient care.
- Strong foundational knowledge in related imaging, interventional services, and surgical approaches.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications in advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP or EUS.
- Leadership experience or roles in multidisciplinary health teams.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals or contributions to gastroenterological research or clinical trials.
- Experience in developing patient care protocols and treatment guidelines.
- Skills in patient communication and education regarding chronic gastrointestinal conditions.
