About the Job
The Candidate shall aid as required for operation services, monitoring, and tuning of all functional multiuser systems in the 502 CS data center and 325 CS data center, not controlled by another agency (AFSFC, AFSVA). The Candidate shall analyze hardware and software problems and provide potential solutions to the Government personnel for these functional systems. This support also includes providing technical assistance as required to the programming staff, helping to automate currently existing manual processes and updating the various CLIENT functional systems and applications at both on and off-site locations.
Creating and deleting user accounts on the local and off-site functional systems as well as implementing and overseeing system security.
When a Time Compliance Network Order (TCNO) or Maintenance Tasking Order (MTO) is not pushed by the Government to the AFCEC functional servers and systems, this shall be accomplished manually by the Candidate.
Designing and configuring functional servers (reconfiguring as necessary) for both local and off-site locations (ISTs and MMR) to optimize connectivity and efficiency IAW AFNet policies and procedures.
Applying patches and upgrades to the local functional systems to ensure system security and enhance/improve system functionality.
Managing user accounts for functional systems at both local and off-site (IST’s and MMR) locations including data entry, and network interfaces.
Installing and upgrading new and replacement systems, hardware, software, and operating systems at both local and off-site (ISTs including MMR).
Recommends network requirements, parameters, interface configuration, and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Experience/ Requirements.
- Be knowledgeable with IT concepts, practices and procedures and be Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certified IAW DoD Manual 8570.01, and Microsoft, Unix, and Cisco industry standards, and maintain certification status.
- Full understanding of the interconnectivity of fiber optics, coaxial and copper (twisted pair) broadband and baseband Ethernet, wireless technology, local area networks and leased data circuits for wide-area networking and telecommunications including VoIP and videoconferencing.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in data recovery, backups, Active Directory and remote network service tools (e.g. SolarWinds).
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience setting up, configuring and supporting internal and/or external networks, systems and servers.
- Candidate shall have an active Secret clearance
