Job Description: GE Wind Maintenance Lead Technician
Location: Travel 100%
Job Summary:
The GE Wind Maintenance Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance and repair tasks on GE wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining high standards of turbine availability and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on GE wind turbines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Replace faulty components and perform necessary upgrades.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety procedures and protocols
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated with the latest GE wind turbine technologies and maintenance practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team.
- Collaborate with GE technical support for complex troubleshooting and repairs.
Operational Efficiency:
- Optimize turbine performance to maximize energy production and minimize downtime.
- Monitor turbine data and performance metrics to identify potential issues.
- Implement best practices to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and update maintenance logs and service records.
- Communicate effectively with site management.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree or certification in wind energy technology, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in wind turbine maintenance, preferably on GE turbines.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with GE wind turbine technology and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Certifications:
- GE wind turbine certification is preferred. (1.X, 2.X, 3.X, PMG, or Sierra Turbine Fundamental Certifications, Converter, Advanced Troubleshooting, and or Differences course)
