If you're looking to immerse yourself in a passionate team rooted in community, connection and camaraderie, then we're looking for YOU! #IAmMerz Merz Therapeutics is seeking a General AccountantThe General Accountant will provide accounting and operational support for the Therapeutics Accounting & Financial Reporting team to ensure accuracy and efficiency of duties. In addition to these primary accounting tasks, the General Accountant will support the Financial Reporting & Accounting end-to-end process including General Ledger Accounting processes, Payroll, and backup support to AP & AR. Success in this role includes the ability to business partner cross-functionally with superior customer service across the Therapeutics organization.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Major dutiesDescriptionGeneral Accounting & Financial ReportingProvide support to general accounting and reporting processes, month-end closing of the books, other account reconciliations as required, and preparation of journal entries. Ensure financial statements and accounting policies are in compliance with IFRS standards.Payroll Accounting support Support payroll process, perform deep-dive analysis for balance composition of account reconciliations and provide ad hoc payroll reporting. The ability to research payroll reconciling items and to understand the payroll process. Process Improvement Approach all responsibilities with an eye for process and internal control improvements. Work with Sr. Manager of Accounting and accounting team to implement process improvements using automation tools such as RPA or other SAP functionality. Accounting process backup Support Provide backup support for critical processes and other cross-functional support within the accounting team including Fixed Assets, Tax, AR, AP, and Travel & Expense ReportingInternal & External Audit Support Participate in yearly internal and external audits including preparing the fulfillment of audit sample requests and maintaining of process documentation.Ad hoc Reporting Assist in ad hoc consolidated reporting including yearly reporting requirements due to Germany quarterly and specifically at year-end. Maintain and update BI reports as need for Financial Reporting. ProjectsParticipation in projects for SAP implementations and testing as neededAcquisitions Integration Support Assist in integration of newly acquired projects and mergers & acquisition support as needed. Job related qualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in accountingRequiredProfessional experience:5-7 years finance/accounting experienceRequired3-5 years of payroll accounting experiencePreferredExperience in finance/accounting in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare industry PreferredKnowledge, skills and abilities: -Strong analytical skillsRequired -Strong problem solving and critical thinking skillsRequired -Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)Preferred -Ability to research and evaluate dataRequired -SAP ERP ExperiencePreferredPersonal Skills:- Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamRequired- Strong communication skillsRequired- Ability to business partner with the Therapeutics organizationPreferred- Excellent internal customer service skillsPreferred -Attention to detail & organizational skillsPreferred- Excellent communication & customer service skillsPreferred Don't meet every single requirement?
