Job DescriptionThe Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) administers the Compensation & Pension (C&P) Program for benefits to Veterans, Service Members, their dependents, and their survivors. On October 9, 1996, Congress enacted Public Law 104-275 which authorized VA to contract for medical examinations (a critical piece of evidence for determining the extent of permanent impairment) from non-VA medical sources. This Project is established in support of the VA effort to provide disability examination services.
Qualifications- Current and unrestricted license or authorizing document from any US State, District of Columbia or US Territory to provide healthcare within scope of practice.
- Degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Dental Medicine
- Board certification.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance to drive company vehicles.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
- This position is unaccompanied.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to deployment. You must maintain a current passport.
Scope of Work
This contract requires private-sector Medical Disability Examinations (MDEs), Benefits Delivery at Discharge (BDD) and Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) on behalf the VA.
Provider Training
International SOS will provide training for this effort according to the VA requirements.
Disability Benefit Questionnaire (DBQ) Results
The Provider shall upload all completed DBQs to the provided secure website daily. In addition, the Provider shall send the completed DBQs (including diagnostics) and other examination data and results (e.g., laboratory tests and X-ray reports) to the IT systems identified by International SOS with the date and time the appointment was completed. DBQ results, non-DBQ worksheets and diagnostics shall be transmitted through the secure website.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out dental evaluation of patients that are brought in for evaluation
- Liaise with other medical staff to ensure continuity of care
- Order, perform, interpret test results and analyze records and reports.
- Ability to provide follow-up care for patients as needed.
- Collect, record, and maintain patient health information. VA system to be utilized and training will be provided.
- Ensures that all dental records are accurately maintained.
- Ensure best practice in line with clinical guidelines and SOPs
- Provide liaison with external agencies where required.

Compensation - Base rate is $200 per day+ additional money per exam $690 (10 patients) $935 (15 patients)
