Job Details
Position Summary:
As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, focusing on general ledger management, payroll, and various other accounting duties. Your role will be integral in ensuring financial accuracy and supporting organizational decision-making through detailed financial reporting.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly and annual closing processes, including preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Analyze and interpret financial reports, providing insights to management for informed decision-making.
- Participate in the budgeting process by collecting data, conducting analysis, and providing financial input.
- Process bi-weekly payroll, handling deductions, benefits administration, and ensuring accurate disbursement.
- Assist with financial audits by preparing and delivering necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts on a daily basis to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Maintain Fixed Asset, Sales Tax, and Corporate Credit Card processes with precise documentation.
- Cross-train within the department and act as a backup for Human Resources functions as needed.
- Build, generate, and distribute custom financial reports tailored to business needs.
- Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (AS/AA) in Accounting or a related field required, Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
- Experience in building and customizing financial reports.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage changing priorities and handle frequent interruptions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Work environment typically has moderate noise levels.
