Skookum is seeking a reliable and effective General Maintenance Worker Lead with a positive attitude. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for a variety of tasks, to include painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs and minor electrical work. Clean roof drains and gutters. Communicates and interacts directly with the customer, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs. Responds to customer inquiries and complaints. Ensures completed work meets quality control standards. Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers. Communicate with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates. Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements. Maintain preventive maintenance and repair records. Read and understand drawings, work plans and maps. Must have the ability and be willing to work outside of normal working hours such as back shift and weekends, in the event of unplanned outages. Trains employees on job tasks and assignments to ensure complete understanding of work assigned. Assist Manager in monitoring employee performance ensuring efficient use of time and performance of work tasks. Qualifications: Journeyman level certification or equivalent combination of experience and/or licensing preferred. Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred. Must be able to perform heavy manual labor for long periods of time. Physical Requirements: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties. Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required. Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time. Requirements: A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum’s insurance. Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
