Sodexo Universities is seeking an experienced General Manager 4 for our Dining Program at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  As the third largest city in the State of South Dakota, Aberdeen offers the charm of a small town with the amenities of a larger city. Our Food Services General Manager will lead strategic visioning for an innovative student dining experience, and will be responsible for the successful coordination and direction of all daily activities related to the entire dining operation - including Student Resident Dining, Food Retail concepts, Catering and Concessions!

• deliver high quality food service,
• achieve company and client financial targets and goals,  
• develop and maintain client and customer relationships, 
• develop strategic plans, pro-active solutioning to solve problems or adjust strategies, 

• will lead successful teams, mentoring them in accurate cash handling, operations, safety, open and closing processes,
• train and manage department HACCP Safety Programs, Sodexo programs and daily operation standards,
• maintain and extend solid partnership with our Client and key Stakeholders, and
• engage in campus community events, activities, meetings.

Are you the candidate we are seeking?  The Ideal Candidate will:

• Have 5 years of food operations management experience at a General Manager level in a university setting or other high-volume dining
• Have a demonstrated history of successful, diverse team leadership within a food service environment
• Be proficient in use of on-line Food Management Systems for menu and recipe planning, ordering and inventory and financial reporting
• Demonstrate proven financial acumen and have demonstrated success managing food and labor costs and budgets
• Be a people person with a strong focus with maintaining positive client relations and experience successfully mentoring and developing staff and teams
• Be a solid leader who is perceptive and applies attention to details that make a difference in quality and presentation of food, while providing exceptional customer service
• Be customer and client focused, including providing quality dining options in a welcoming dining environment
