Responsibilities:The General Manager will oversee the business operations of a fencing club, ensuring efficient management of staff, customer relations, and organizational processes. They will be responsible for enhancing the club's operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction while allowing the owner to focus on coaching.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations and oversee business-side employees, including front desk and membership management.
- Handle hiring, training, and managing staff, including coaches and customer service personnel.
- Develop and implement processes for scheduling, inventory management, and customer service.
- Maintain communication with parents and students, addressing concerns and complaints as necessary.
- Organize and oversee events, including tournaments, ensuring all logistical aspects are managed effectively.
- Identify areas for improvement within the organization and implement solutions.
- Monitor financial performance, including managing budgets and analyzing profit and loss statements.
- Collaborate with the owner to develop strategies for member recruitment and retention.
- Determine appropriate staffing levels for various areas of responsibility (coaching, customer facing, back office, facility, etc.) and corresponding budget.
- Oversee all social media and marketing efforts. Ensure that available information regarding Rain City Fencing is current and accurate. Manage the reputation of the organization and respond to customer reviews across platforms such as Google Review and Trip Advisor.
- Experience in management, preferably in a sports or fitness environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with parents and students.
- Basic understanding of financial management and business acumen.
- Ability to work independently and proactively identify issues and solutions.
- Familiarity with customer service best practices and membership management systems.
