Divisional General Manager
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for providing focused leadership to the Manufacturing Operations. The GM leads staff members of the site and interacts with Managers of other sites to drive execution. The GM maintains and executes the strategic plan to realize market growth at profit margins consistent with business objectives and corporate expectations. The GM has ultimate responsibility for site financial and organizational performance.
Key Job Accountabilities:
1. Provide leadership, direction and management over manufacturing, engineering, materials, quality assurance/control, marketing, and sales for a plant.
2. Review of forecast, cost, and operational data to determine site progress toward goals
3. Work closely with the other site management teams as well as corporate resources such as HR, accounting, finance and market development to assist in attaining company strategic objectives through metrics, change management and continuous improvement.
4. Develop goals and objectives for site management which ensure the execution to the company’s enduring goals and development of individuals to fill the talent pipeline for future succession.
5. Support and strengthen the company’s product line within the site by implementing best practices which support the customer experience. Manage current customers as required and the promotion of solutions during visits by potential customers and of existing customers to support to securing of new business.
6. Enhance the customer relationship through consistent execution and communication with the customer.
Additional Accountabilities & Job Functions:
1. Establish priorities and measurable goals, objectives and metrics for the management staff and site. Set direction and ensure accountability for performance to these metrics as well as site-specific projects and continuous improvement activities. Assign resources effectively to achieve these tasks.
2. Provide input to the site’s functional groups and corporate teams regarding current and future requirements and process solutions. Makes recommendations and institute improvements in productivity, quality, safety and efficiency of operations.
3. Maintain a current site organization chart and succession plan. The plan should include personal development and career management for individuals to fill key roles within the site.
4. Working knowledge of industry quality standards ISO 9001 and AS9100
5. Ensure operational and employee compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures.
6. Additional duties as assigned by management.
Education/Experience:
• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required for this position; a Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or MBA is preferred.
• Experience of 10 years in the field or in a related area is required for this position, assuming education requirements are met.
• A highly skilled manager with well-rounded experience and lean knowledge in manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Experience in the manufacturing process as a Plant Manager or above level with management responsibility is required.
• Experience in the manufacturing environment of aerospace interconnection assemblies, high technology products and/or of electrical/electronic-manufacturing is highly desirable.
