- Bachelor or Master's degree, preferably in Engineering, Architecture, or Business/Operations management
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in general management, preferably in the architectural fabrication industry
- Proven track record in leadership roles within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- General knowledge in a variety of disciplines such as Accounting, Manufacturing, Sales, Fabrication, Legal, Engineering and Finance, Material and Construction Law/ contracts.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire employees and other stakeholders
- Thorough knowledge of the architectural sales and construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all functions and departments including Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Administration
- Full P&L responsibility and oversight
- Position will report directly to the company owner.
- Position will interface with the company controller who reports directly to the owner
- With two production facilities within the US, and a strong 47-year history of exceptional products and customer satisfaction, the GM will be responsible to maintain, and improve the company's founding values, monitor the overall marketplace and ensure development of new products and improvements to existing products.
- Prepare company's objectives, strategies, plans, and budgets for 1 year, 5 year and 20 year increments.
- Monitor company performance measured against prepared objectives, strategies, plans, and budgets.
- Monitor and implement organizational changes as needed within the company
- Assure financial stability for the organization
- Develop, implement, and monitor operational plans and procedures for each department including marketing, Sales, Production, Quality, Procurement, and Administration.
- Proactively address internal and external issues as they may arise.
- Monitor and take actions to improve efficiencies, quality, and profits in all sectors of the company.
- Monitor and take actions to improve the overall workplace environment and employee morale.
- Ensure that adequate training is available to maximize the efficiency and safety of the workplace
- Keep an "open door” policy with employees and open two-way dialog with employees.
- Contribute to the overall growth of the company and have fun in the process
