Phillips Staffing is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead a machine shop, which specializes in the production of thermoplastic insulators and material handling solutions. The General Manager will have full P&L responsibility, ensuring the operational efficiency, profitability, and overall success of the business. This role requires a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, customer service excellence, and supply chain management.

- P&L Management
- Oversee the financial performance of the machine shop, ensuring profitability, cost control, and revenue growth.
- Develop and implement strategic plans that align with business goals, including revenue forecasts, margin improvement initiatives, and cost-saving measures.
- Budget and Financial Planning
- Lead the preparation, management, and monitoring of the annual operating budget.
- Analyze financial reports and provide regular updates to senior leadership, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
- Operations and Production Management
- Manage day-to-day operations, including production scheduling, quality control, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure that all production processes are efficient, scalable, and meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor to optimize productivity, reduce waste, and improve safety.
- Customer Service and Estimating
- Develop strong relationships with key customers, ensuring excellent service and responsiveness.
- Oversee the preparation of cost estimates and bids for new projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining profitability.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns with a focus on resolution and long-term partnership.
- Supply Chain and Vendor Management
- Manage supply chain functions, including procurement, inventory control, and logistics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of supervisors, machinists, and support staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and enforce proper procedures for the operation and maintenance of equipment.
- 7+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment, preferably in thermoplastics or material handling solutions.
- Proven track record in managing full P&L responsibilities and driving operational success.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management, production processes, and customer service.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and estimating software.
