We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of our injection molding manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the plant runs smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve production targets, optimize resources, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPI's) for operational efficiency.
- Production and Quality Management:
- Monitor production processes to ensure they are efficient and meet quality standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control systems, conducting regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Staff Management and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers, engineers, and production staff.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
- Financial Oversight:
- Develop and manage the plant's budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
- Analyze financial reports, track expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability.
- Maintenance and Equipment Management:
- Oversee the maintenance of plant machinery and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and functioning optimally.
- Manage the efficient use of resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate supply levels and minimizing excess stock.
- Process Improvement and Innovation:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the plant.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for optimization.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and enforce safety policies, conduct safety training, and perform regular safety audits to maintain a safe working environment.
- Customer and Supplier Relations:
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers, ensuring that products meet customer specifications and expectations.
- Negotiate with suppliers for the best pricing and quality of materials and services.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance, including production metrics, financial performance, and improvement initiatives, to senior management.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including plant staff, senior management, and external partners.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a General Manager manufacturing role, with a strong track record of success in plant operations.
- Extensive experience in production management, quality control, maintenance, and staff leadership.
- Skills:
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools, with expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Solid understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost control.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Certifications:
- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other relevant areas are a plus.
