Come grow with us by joining our team as a General Sales Manager for our Elgin used commercial vehicle center. ! In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. You will oversee all sales operations, including strategy development, sales performance management, inventory management, and team leadership. This role requires a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a deep understanding of the commercial vehicle market. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales management, preferably in commercial vehicles or heavy equipment, and be passionate about achieving sales targets while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:
- Sales Leadership: Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for used commercial vehicles.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to foster a high-performance culture. Oversee hiring, training, and professional development to ensure team members are equipped to meet sales goals.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring the highest level of satisfaction and repeat business. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and issues to resolution.
- Inventory Management:
- Work closely with the purchasing and operations teams to manage inventory levels, ensuring a diverse and market-aligned selection of used vehicles.
- Evaluate vehicle demand, pricing trends, and turnover rates to make data-driven decisions on stocking and replenishment.
- Collaborate with reconditioning teams to assess and maintain vehicle quality standards, maximizing the value and appeal of the available inventory.
- Disposition Management:
- Develop and oversee processes for timely disposition of aged or underperforming inventory, optimizing turnover and reducing holding costs.
- Implement pricing and sales strategies for high-demand and slow-moving vehicles, using data insights to achieve a balanced inventory mix.
- Manage relationships with auction partners, wholesalers, and other channels for effective off-loading of surplus or stale inventory.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and reports. Analyze sales metrics and market trends to adjust strategies as needed.
- Profitability Management: Drive profitability by managing pricing, cost control, and operational efficiency. Ensure sales activities align with financial objectives.
- Compliance: Ensure all sales operations comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales management experience, with at least 3 years in commercial vehicles, trucking, or a related field. Used vehicle sales experience is preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in sales and CRM software.
- Characteristics: Results-oriented, customer-focused, and driven to exceed targets. Proven ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range:$100,000 to $125,000
