General Staff- Custodial Workers - Canlan Sports

Canlan Sports is currently looking for a General Staff- Custodial Workers

Rate of Pay: $14.00 - $14.50/ hour

Our Janitors are pro-active and hands-on individuals who perform janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the overall upkeep of the facility and surrounding grounds. Their primary responsibilities include cleaning and performing small repairs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes
• Setup, transition and take down of fields and courts.
• Ensure that entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe including:

• Property & grounds cleanup
• Grass cutting and edging
• Seasonal snow and debris removal

• Maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports with respect to:

• Change room cleanliness
• Window cleanliness
• Washroom cleaning checklist
• Shower cleaning checklist
• Parking lot & property cleaning checklist
• Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing in line with established floor care procedures

• Assist with minor maintenance as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

• Completed high school education or equivalent is an asset
• Valid driver’s license an asset
• Building Service Worker Certificate (BC)

ABILITIES, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience as a commercial buildings janitor (preferred)
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and call outs)
• Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills (verbal and written)
