Role Description As a member of the Brasada Ranch Team, this position assists the General Store Manager in the daily operations of the General Store. Supervises, trains, and evaluates the General Store Retail Team, ensures procedures and processes are performed to the company's standards. Instrumental in fulfilling the short-term and long-term goals of the General Store and supporting the Ranch philosophy. This position is responsible for creating an atmosphere that will inspire guests and team members to return. The above goals will be accomplished by the proper implementation, promotion, and success of our operations through continual evaluation of the products/services provided while ensuring effective training of the service team. The individual will instill a strong atmosphere of service excellence in order to promote self-motivation and will redirect performance as soon as discrepancies are observed/experienced. The individual will support guidelines and goals within the structure of the budget, achieving results through prudent management techniques and cost controlling measures. A key part of every associate's job is to serve as a Brasada Ranch ambassador, engaging the guest and community at every opportunity. |
General Responsibilities |
· Working closely with the General Store Manager as a Leader of the team to ensure everyone is supported. · Availability to assist with questions or concerns during store operating hours. · Management of the coffee bar: Ensuring team members are properly trained. · Assisting General Store Manager with weekly ordering and invoicing. · Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service to guests and members. · Full knowledge of all products and ability to address questions about them. · Assist in arranging displays and merchandise that creates excitement and draws appeal. · Maintain an organized, sanitary, and safe working area. · All cashiering duties. · Completion of appropriate paperwork and follow through when applicable. · Supervises the retail outlet operations for the resort, developing the retail aspects of the department including monitoring labor, inventory and customer service. · Maintains and demonstrates a strong knowledge of the resorts' various retail outlets and the trends within the hospitality industry. · Assists in the execution of the strategic plan including forecasting, budget management, profit and loss accountability, cost control and inventories. · Assists with monthly inventory. · Trains staff on Point-Of-Sales, systems and manual procedures appropriate for the retail function. · Ensures proper maintenance, cleaning and operation of the retail outlet and service equipment. · The ability to fully explain all resort products, services and other information about the resort to all guests and members. · Maintain knowledge of current resort events, activities and hours of operation as well as dining options currently available. · Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned. |
Skills/Traits |
· Preferred two years' experience in retail or hospitality. · Two years' experience in a leadership role is required. · Experience in a high volume, quality focused establishment is preferred. · Excellent written and oral communication skills required. · Positive interpersonal skills required. · Computer literate in Microsoft Works applications and/or Point of Sales System required. · Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. · Highly responsible & reliable. |
