Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance customer's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from customer staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.
Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.
Responsibilities
+ Responsible for all construction activities on a project.
+ Reports to the Construction Manager or Project Manager
+ Thoroughly knowledgeable and fully accountable with considerable latitude in decision making.
+ Interprets, organizes, and coordinates work assignments.
+ Responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility.
+ May be the primary client contact for all jobsite activities or may coordinate with client's resident representatives on job-site activities within assigned area of operations.
+ Responsibilities are to ensure assigned job-site operations are in compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
+ Provides technical and administrative direction to superintendents, construction engineers, coordinators, administrators and others, as assigned.
+ Responsible for job-site operations, as assigned, including all onsite activities of UCOR, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and their representatives and others as may be assigned within area of responsibility.
+ Approve the layout of temporary construction facilities for the project.
+ Responsible for field activities to ensure the jobsite is composed of qualified and knowledgeable personnel, and effective resource utilization.
+ Monitor General Foreman/Foreman and Foreman/Worker ratios on the project.
+ Ensure that craft work on the project is effectively using project automation tools.
+ Establishes, coordinates and implements construction schedules, manning charts, material and equipment requirements.
+ Sets and meets project cost and schedule targets.
+ Coordinates multi-discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project, or all related crafts of a single discipline covering one or more areas of the project.
+ Provides back-up support to the Site Manager.
+ Coordinates and directs construction installation activities for all disciplines in responsible areas.
+ May coordinate and direct, as assigned, all construction activities of the project.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in a Construction related discipline or demonstrated combination of equivalent education and experience.
+ Extensive construction and project related experience, including at least 5+ years prior superintendent experience.
+ Possesses a thorough knowledge of all engineering disciplines, construction technologies and job site management.
