Generator Field Service Technician - Malace HR

Malace|HR is seeking a skilled Generator Field Service Technician to work in the greater Ft. Wayne, IN area. Current opening available on 1st shift with opportunities for growth! This will be a traveling job within the local area (company vehicle provided).

1st shift = Monday-Friday 7:00AM-5:00PM (occasional weekend work may be necessary based on customer needs, such as an emergency etc.)

Overview:

As a Generator Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing mechanical and electrical services on engines, generators, UPS, switchgears, automatic transfer switches, and other related systems. Representative duties include providing first-time installation commissioning, coordinating start-ups with other systems (i.e. switchgear, UPS, etc.), performing service and repairs, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems, and writing service reports etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 3-5+ years of previous mechanical experience working with generators and engines, preferable with Caterpillar, and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, engine and component repairs.

2. Excellent problem solving, diagnostics and troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidelines and a basic understanding of warranty administration.

3. Great customer service skills.
