S&ME is seeking an experienced engineer who specializes in geotechnical and/or construction materials testing projects to join our construction engineering team in Columbus, OH. If you have extensive experience managing projects and supervising field staff to ensure the highest level of quality and compliance with industry standards, we want to hear from you. We are looking for the right individual to collaborate with leadership and project teams in both service lines leading our projects to success.
About The Role:
As a Geotechnical Construction Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing medium to large construction materials testing and geotechnical projects, ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance with industry standards from testing results to report and proposal preparation and review. You will work closely with clients, project teams, additional leadership and laboratory staff to deliver successful projects while upholding our commitment to excellence.
You'll engage closely with clients to grasp their unique project needs and going the extra mile to ensure their utmost satisfaction. Your technical expertise will help nurture and guide a team of skilled professionals and field-based personnel, fostering their growth.
Your business development efforts will involve cultivating a robust local client base and expanding your professional network to drive revenue growth that aligns with our ambitious financial goals.
What You Bring:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field
- You have 5+ years of experience with Construction Materials Testing, Special Inspections and Geotechnical projects
- You are a Professional Engineer (PE), or able to obtain within 6 months
- You have a strong working knowledge of applicable ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards and procedures, IBC Special Inspections, and geotechnical recommendations.
- You are willing to work outside, maneuver equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
