The GI Registered Nurse at Texas Endoscopy Center - Plano West:

• Prepares patients, equipment and room for Endoscopy procedures
• Assists physicians with Endoscopy procedures per the SGNA guidelines
• Specialized knowledge, experience and training is required for endoscope manipulation under the direction of the physician
• Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for Endoscopy nursing care according to accepted standards
• Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge of Endoscopy procedures and techniques
• Provides multi-dimensional care for assigned patients. Includes patient care in the pre-operative holding area, care in the Endoscopy suite, and care for the patient in the PACU
• Contact by way of telephone patients scheduled for endoscopy procedures to assess medical and medication history. Reviews with PAT nurse for any labs, x-rays, or EKG’s needed
• Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in endoscopic procedures.
