GI Surgery Scheduler - KU MedWest Ambulatory Surgery

Position Title:                                                  GI Surgery Scheduler

Position Purpose:                                           Manages the primary product of GI operating room time, a constrained resource, and is   expected to proactively fill the schedule with profitable procedures. They are to be the   key point of contact for our patients as they work to schedule their procedures.

Position Reports to:                            Business Office Manager

Position Supervises:                            None

Degree of Supervision Provided to Position:

Must be self -directed and work under the direction of the Business Office Manager

and Clinical Leadership

Work Conditions:

• Subject to varying situations.
• Subject to a high volume of calls.

Education, Experience, and Licensure:

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum one (1) year scheduling experience in an ambulatory surgery facility, acute-care hospital, or physician’s office.
• Punctuality
• Good attendance record.
• Comprehension of medical terminology.
• Excellent communication skills.

  Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
