Cloud Lake Technology is looking for Field Engineers to be part of our Emergency Management Sustainment team supporting 100+ military installations worldwide. The Field Engineers will ensure Giant Voice systems are fully operational to provide a critical communication path for Emergency Managers. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of Giant Voice (GV) systems (Federal Signal, Whelen, American Signal, ATI, Cooper Wheelock, etc.) or Land Mobile Radio (LMR) (Motorola, Kenwood, Harris).
Responsibilities
+ Uses engineering knowledge and methods to design, install, support, and repair technological tools and equipment at a field location (in the field, at a remote office, or at a client site). Analyzes user needs; builds, modifies, installs, and tests products. Troubleshoots errors or malfunctions and performs unscheduled or routine maintenance. Creates, distributes, and maintains service or training manuals; provides on-site training.
+ Support overall sustainment and repair operations of the Army’s Giant Voice and Audio-Visual Notification Systems (AVNS) including the management, operation, and maintenance of associated hardware, software, and processes. Demonstrate through understanding of area of responsibility.
+ Work closely with PM/Lead.
+ Provide timely and expert incident management services in strict adherence to the Service Agreement Level (SLA) metrics and Key Performance Indicators set forth by the program in response to GV, AVNS, and other hardware/software issues.
+ Document, coordinate, and troubleshooting technical questions and reported incidents from Emergency Responders that report system problems or incidents. Problems may include poor system response time, potential security incidents, inability to access system resources, or questions on the use of a specialized software.
+ Train end-users to perform the resolution steps through self-service, or by another area, such as the security administration, systems administrator, etc., based on Cloud Lake’s organizational structure and separation of duties principles in place.
+ Document repair information of hardware, software, in conjunction with geospatial data.
+ Use of boom & scissor lifts, forklifts, and bucket trucks to perform repairs 20-80 feet off the ground.
+ Perform and conduct research of potential resolution of assigned technical issues with teammates and OEM representatives.
+ Work closely with Engineering, Security, Site and Systems Administration teams to incorporate customer feedback and address key support and usability concerns for customers.
+ Communicate and interact effectively with internal and external partners including but not limited to, 3rd party support team, and Government customers.
+ Evaluate tools, best practices, technologies, and approaches to EM service delivery problems / issues for incorporation into the overall service management policies and procedures.
+ Demonstrate compliance with applicable laws and regulations, especially those surrounding safety and communications.
+ Maintain and write standard operating procedures.
+ Requires 2-4 weeks travel per month.
+ Ability to work from lifts 10+ feet above ground level.
Qualifications
+ DoD Secret Clearance is required.
+ Knowledge of / willingness to learn Emergency Management systems: Giant Voice Exp or LMR Exp or Apprentice Electrician Technical test equipment used to install / repair GV, LMR, and AVNS.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.
+ Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call.
+ Will require travel (1 - 4 times a month). Some travels on short notice. Position requires 95% of travel (CONUS and OCONUS) .
+ Must be able to lift 70lbs.
+ Those who have a fear of heights should not apply.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Heavy-duty equipment like boom and scissor lifts, cranes, excavators used to install / repair GV, LMR, and AVNS (a plus to have).
Pay Range
$75,000-$81,000
