Are you looking to break into the GIS field? Selectek is seeking entry-level candidates for a GIS Technician with an engineering firm that primarily supports utility companies around Atlanta, Georgia.
Title: GIS Technician
Location: Fayetteville, GA
Expected Pay Range: $21-23 per hour
This company is on a Monday-Thursday, 10-hour-per-day schedule with the possibility of a flexible schedule once candidates are established in their role.
Candidates for these roles must be knowledgeable about ESRI software packages, and experience with AutoCAD is a plus. Ideal candidates hold a bachelors degree in either Geography or Geospatial Science, but non-degreed candidates with strong ArcMap or ArcGIS skills will also be considered. No specific work experience is required for this position, as our client is looking to provide training to new entrants to the field.
Primary duties in this position are working with engineers to understand required changes in physical maps and make necessary adjustments in construction documents. Field teams will use these documents to rebuild and retool power systems around the area. Candidates will be partnering with more experienced members of the 20-person team to learn the companys methods and practices.
