Precision Walls has an exciting opportunity to join our team in Raleigh, NC. The Engineering Project Coordinator position supports the company’s needs for all engineering and design responsibilities of the company related to cold-formed metal framing (CFMF). This role will work closely with our Project Managers/Estimators and outsourced CFMF Engineers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversight/review of CFMF shop drawings for compliance with PWI standards
- Coordination with outsourced network of engineers along with occasional drafting, and modeling certain elements of our projects
- Conceptually develop efficient solutions, substantiate serviceability and facilitate graphical renditions of our projects that help implement these services with our construction team and its adherence in the field
- Oversee and facilitate the outsourcing of CFMF Shop Drawings and Calculations for projects
- Review Shop Drawings for accuracy, revisions, and compliance to PWI Standards
- Maintain systems and logs that track progress of work delegated to outsourced Engineers
- Be the go-between for our Project Managers and Outsourced Engineering Team
- Work with the Team on developing workflow solutions for typical repetitive engineering conditions
- During downtime, work with AutoCAD and Revit developing models for shop drawing standards, marketing/presentation for project bids, potentially wall panel drawings and other projects as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements/Experience:
- Experience reading and interpreting architectural and/or structural plans and specs
- Understanding of commercial construction structures
- Strong communication skill set over the phone and via e-mail
- Ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented work environment
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit/BIM modeling strongly preferred, but not required
- The ability to learn quickly – new software, applications, and design tools, as needed
