Job Summary: As a Glazier, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing various types of glass and glazing systems. You will work closely with our clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.
Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and install glass panels, windows, doors, and other glass components according to specifications.
- Repair and replace damaged glass and glazing systems, including glass doors, storefronts, skylights, and mirrors.
- Handle glass with care, ensuring proper safety measures are followed during installation and transportation.
- Operate hand and power tools, such as glass cutters, drills, grinders, and suction cups, to carry out glazing tasks.
- Prepare surfaces, apply sealants, adhesives, and caulks to ensure proper weatherproofing and insulation.
- Collaborate with team members, architects, and contractors to determine project requirements and provide accurate estimates.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and safety protocols related to glass and glazing.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Glazier, Glass Installer, or similar role in the glass and glazing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of different types of glass, including tempered, laminated, insulated, and decorative glass.
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and installing glass using various techniques and tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards related to glass installation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot glass-related issues.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
