How You Will Make a Difference at Sun Valley Academy
As the Art Teacher, you will be responsible for developing in each student and interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines.
You will also:
- Have an aesthetic understanding and appreciation for the arts
- Able to design, facilitate and teach art
- Create and implement lesson plans, assign tasks, and evaluate student work and progress according to school's guidelines
- Supervise students safety and promote a safe, effective, and ethical learning environment
- Use professional discretion and judgment in managing students in a classroom setting
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Maintain professional demeanor and ethics at all times
- Other job-related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma and/or College Credit in Art Education or related field
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Art Teaching for 1 year or more
