Responsibilities
- Design and Architecture: Lead the design and planning of our network infrastructure, including SD-WAN, MPLS, DMZ (firewall), Cisco, and Palo Alto systems.
- Cloud and On-Premises Integration: Oversee the integration and management of cloud data centers, AWS, and on-premises networks.
- Team Leadership: Manage and guide a team of 20+ professionals, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
- Hands-On Support: Dedicate 20% of your time to assisting the team with technical issues and network fixes.
- Strategic Planning: Allocate 50-60% of your time to planning and architectural tasks, ensuring alignment with our long-term goals.
- Operational Oversight: Contribute to cybersecurity efforts by managing firewalls and collaborating with the cybersec team.
- Project Involvement: Participate in network and infrastructure-related projects, providing expert insights and guidance.
Role Specifications:
- 50-60% time allocated to planning and architecture.
- 20% time assisting the team with technical fixes.
- 20% time managing a team of 20+ professionals (mixed between onshore and offshore).
- Involvement in looking at the environment and design of network or infrastructure, leading into various projects.
- Overlapping but not directly part of the cybersecurity team; will contribute by managing firewalls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required for this role
- 10 years of experience with at least 8 years in a managerial or technical architect role within infrastructure.
- Proficiency in SD WAN, MPLS, DMZ (firewall), Cisco, and Palo Alto.
- Strong network design experience with VMWare, Active Directory, AWS.
- Experience with cloud data centers, AWS, and on-premises networks.
- Industry Background: Significant experience in the oil and gas industry is highly preferred or at a global technology company, as our network setup closely mimics that of oil and gas rather than other industries like retail, law, or banking.
- Must be willing to work on-site.
- Focused on network-related tasks, with existing strong system-side resources in-house.
- No project managers or PMP certifications needed.
