SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Program Manager II, Global Operations should have a sharp business mind and proven ability to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives across the global operations program/project portfolio. As a natural leader, this person should have strong talent for program/project coordination and delegation. Ultimately, the program manager should be motivated by a desire to optimize productivity and nurture program success from inception to completion. Programs could include but not limited to mergers and acquisitions diligence, integrations and divestitures, footprint optimizations, manufacturing transfers/capacity expansions, life-cycle management, product specific strategy programs, operations resilience, business continuity planning, capex management, site process/yield improvement and long-range capacity planning. This role will ensure the deliverables of the program are achieved on or ahead of schedule and within cost standards such that they meet the desired strategic objective (i.e. quality standard, value), business deliverable and/or key decision required. Employees should be able to strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that adhere to organizational objectives. They should develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement, maintain organizational standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance. Oversee multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached. Manage budget and funding channels for maximum productivity. They typically lead teams or programs with broad visibility. They apply conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and their implications. Progression to this level is restricted based on business need
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
This position is under the direct supervision of the Sr. Director, Operations Strategy.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but will be program dependent. Will be responsible for building integrated program/project plans with all functions/workstreams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Design, plan and execute Global Operations strategic initiatives/programs by developing plans including, but not limited to, new products, revenue growth, geographic expansion, and improving current products and processes
+ Work closely with project sponsor, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop the scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives
+ Clearly define the critical path and decision criteria
+ Lead and manage the program to achieve results according to the endorsed plan and time, cost and quality parameters
+ Identify key requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors
+ Negotiate the allocation of resources to support the endorsed program plan
+ Monitor and manage progress against the approved schedule and budget
+ Facilitate the identification of program issues for discussion and bring forward options for resolution
+ Lead the team in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of integrated risk management plan
+ Work with other program managers to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department
+ Analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for managers and stakeholders
+ Ensure effective, accurate and timely communication of program information
+ Identify team performance issues and partner with leadership to recommend and develop appropriate action
+ Ensure that cross-functional process efficiencies are identified and maximized in accordance with the team's program goals
+ Effectively communicate issues in order to facilitate development of action options and team recommendations to governance
+ Be flexible to work across different time zones as the program requires, which includes an International element.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor's degree in health sciences and/or business or financial management with 10+ years of experience or equivalent education and years of experience, advanced degree preferred; PMP certification a plus
+ At least 5+ years' experience in an upper management role, preferably in program management with demonstrated success in leading large-scale programs/projects with proven results and effective leadership and management skills
+ Demonstrated program management expertise and experience; project management certification preferred
+ Demonstrated success in leading through influence
+ Demonstrated ability to integrate information to build and implement solutions to organizational problems
+ Results-driven leadership and management skills
+ Excellent negotiating skills and experience in managing stakeholders
+ Excellent communication and influencing skills up, down and across the organization
+ Strong business, analytical and planning skills
+ Outstanding knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
+ Creative thinking and proactive problem solving skills
+ Lean Six Sigma training/knowledge a plus
TRAVEL:
Ability to travel 30% of the time, or more, as project requires. Periodic International travel required as well as travel to and attendance at Medical Device Industry related events throughout the U.S. Europe and Asia.
