Job Details
Seeking an experienced Director of Global Payroll with extensive expertise in managing both US and international payroll operations. This role involves partnering closely with HR, Technology, Engineering, and Finance teams to deliver efficient and accurate payroll services, while building a skilled payroll team. The position requires strategic leadership to scale payroll operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and effective internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for domestic and international teams, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Recruit and develop top talent to build a knowledgeable payroll team, serving as key contacts for internal and external inquiries.
- Design and execute strategies to optimize and scale global payroll operations, adapting to regional requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align payroll processes with broader organizational goals.
- Lead, mentor, and coach the team, fostering professional development and preparing future leaders.
- Implement and refine workflows and internal controls to ensure timely, accurate payroll in compliance with various regulations.
- Stay current with payroll and wage laws, ensuring compliance across tax, benefits, and reporting systems.
- Manage timely and accurate completion of quarterly and annual filings and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the design of internal controls and documentation for regulatory compliance, including SOX requirements.
- Oversee payroll-related financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics.
- Lead or support special projects like audits, entity setups, and system implementations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in managing multi-state and international payroll operations, with a hands-on approach.
- Proficiency with Workday systems and ADP Smart Compliance; familiarity with NetSuite and Oracle ERP is advantageous.
- Proven experience in transforming payroll functions for increased automation, scalability, and efficiency.
- Strong project management skills, including managing project plans, timelines, and critical milestones.
- Analytical mindset with strengths in both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Adaptability and effectiveness in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact with all levels of management and external partners.
