About the Job
As a Category Manager in Global Supplier Services, you will report to a Sourcing Category Director and is responsible for leading the development of long-term category strategies for third party supplier spend, executing sourcing projects (competitive bids, single-source negotiations, etc.), and contracting. You will be focused on IT Project Services in a JPMorgan Chase line of business. This position requires an experienced sourcing manager with contingent workforce experience who can think strategically, manage tactically, along with understanding concepts concerning commercial and legal contractual risk.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of multi-year category and supplier spend management strategies within assigned categories
- Apply strategic thought to a global category. You will partner with your Category Management peers to establish and continually refine a multi-year strategy inclusive of Preferred Suppliers, Supplier Segmentation, Savings Strategies, Relationship Management (both internal and external) and identify operational opportunities resulting in continual improvement for our stakeholders.
- Complete the following activities for material sourcing events, as appropriate:
- Partner with LOB clients and stakeholders to define requirements
- Design and execute the competitive process
- Complete supplier due diligence
- Evaluate competitive offerings from suppliers and develop and present sourcing options that meet JPMC's business requirements
- Conduct commercial term negotiations
- Lead the contract development process
- Partner and collaborate with:
- Regional Sourcing colleagues
- Local, regional and global internal stakeholders
- In-house Legal, Risk and Finance teams
- Other internal risk management groups including Third Party Oversight (TPO)
- Maintain compliance with all policy and procedural guidelines
- Identify new service opportunities that address or anticipate client needs
- Educate the business on Contingent Workforce Best Practices
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years managing technology categories and spend with Contingent Labor/Staffing/Consulting, with strong knowledge of the key aspects of the RFI/RFP/RFQ and five step sourcing process
- Interpersonal: ability to lead and influence execute level stakeholders
- Market Research: ability to conduct market/industry/supplier analysis and synthesize data into a consumable format
- Change Management: experience and proven ability to drive change with management direction but without having to be prescribed to
- Project Management: ability to develop, plan and execute projects and create remediation plans and actions with timely updates to management
- Cost Modeling: ability to understand value streams, cost drivers and how to break down cost structures
- Business Strategy Alignment: ability to understand business strategy and build plans to support it
- Risk Management: knowledge of business risk factors and business savvy to minimize risk appropriately and communicate acceptance of risk factors when required
- Legal Acumen: strong understanding and proven experience in interpreting and executing complex legal Master Agreements and transaction-level documents (Schedules)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- You have CCWP or CCWP SOW Mgmt. Expert certifications
- Strong contracting experience in the area of technology professional services
- Experience in the financial services industry and banking technology is a plus
- Technology Acumen: advanced proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (especially advanced Excel); Beeline and Ariba experience a plus but not required
