Global Travel Analyst - Argonne National Laboratory

About the Job
Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a Global Travel Analyst to be responsible for the day-to-day the coordination and administration of all functions related to managing global travel, conference management, Argonne’s travel credit card program and internal and external auditing of the global travel program. In this role you will ensure exemplary customer service for global travel services for Argonne’s employees. The Global Travel Analyst reports directly to the Manager of Global Travel and will be responsible for the following job responsibilities:
+ Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulations and the complex and continually changing DOE requirements related to global travel and conference management.
+ Ensuring that the global travel policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
+ Facilitating communication between Argonne and its Travel Management Company (TMC) and preferred travel vendors to ensure that they understand what requirements must be met and quality control the vendors’ bookings for accuracy, cost-effectiveness and policy adherence.
+ Collecting and report Argonne’s global travel data in a dashboard and/or reporting system to support regular analysis and trending of Argonne’s travel metrics and key performance indicators for management.
+ Crafting regular customer-facing communications on various travel topics, including, but not limited to, special announcements and newsletters.
Position Requirements
+ Proficient knowledge of policies and procedures for financial management and procurement.
+ Proficient knowledge and familiarity using automated tracking/control systems.
+ Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be highly skilled in using advanced Excel features to analyze data sets, including formula usage, pivot tables and graphs.
+ Highly skilled in managing strict deadlines and handling a complex workload effectively and efficiently, as well as remain organized and composed in fast-paced, dynamic, and potentially high-stress work environments.
+ Ability to interpret complex regulations, establishing priorities, and maintaining excellent working relationships with ANL Divisions, DOE and Argonne’s preferred travel vendors.
+ Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively in a team environment and to assist and mentor other team members.
+ Expertise in compiling, analyzing and reporting travel data.
+ Experience in monitoring and analyzing global events, including, but not limited to, security, crime, natural disasters, politics and health.
+ Ability to make decisions, determinations or perform in a project or program leadership support role.
+ Ability to model Argonne’s core values of impact, safety, respect, integrity, and teamwork.
Preferred
+ Proficient knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulations and DOE regulations in the area of global travel and conference management.
_The selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level (PA2 or PA3) dependent upon depth and breadth of relevant knowledge and skills brought to the position, as well as the amount of relevant experience. The requirements of the various levels are as follows:_
+ _PA2 Level: Bachelor’s and 2+ years of experience or equivalent_
+ _PA3 Level: Bachelor’s and 4+ years of experience or equivalent_
