Our client company is experiencing growth, and due to increased business demands, they have openings for qualified service technicians to join their team! This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment within a locally owned dealership that boasts an experienced staff with very little turnover. They are seeking self-motivated, hard-working technicians to join their close-knit family and become part of a growing service center.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: To ensure successful performance in this role, an individual must be capable of satisfactorily executing each essential duty.
The requirements outlined below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks, in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, encompassing engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct vehicle inspections to identify safety or performance concerns and recommend necessary repairs.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify and troubleshoot vehicle problems.
- Interpret diagnostic codes and data to determine the root cause of issues and develop appropriate repair plans.
- Stay updated with advancements in automotive technology and diagnostic techniques.
- Replace worn or damaged parts, including belts, hoses, brakes, and filters, using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Source and order replacement parts as needed, ensuring compatibility and quality.
- Accurately document parts used, and work performed in service records.
- Communicate with customers to comprehend their vehicle concerns and clearly explain repair options and costs.
- Provide repair work estimates and obtain customer approval before proceeding with repairs.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and service bays.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on safety practices and technical skills.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical training program in automotive repair is preferred.
- General Motors Master certified technicians/General Motors training preferred.
- ASE Master certified technicians preferred.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as an Automotive Service Technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment, including scan tools, multimeters, and diagnostic software, is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues.
