Note: This role does not need to be full-time, estimated around 25-40 hours per week. Will consider candidates who may not be available full-time. Prefer for this position to have flexibility for afternoon or evening hours, but open to accommodating the right person's schedule. Some work may also be done on weekends
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Position Summary:
The GMP Cleaning Technician will be responsible for the care and cleaning of laboratory process and support equipment at the *** Bio lab facility. This position will ensure that lab equipment is maintained in an operation ready state and cleaned according to established procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Under minimal supervision, this role will be accountable for supporting the GMP cleaning operations to deliver and maintain the integrity and environmental control of the facility and equipment.
- Performs sanitary cleaning activities as defined by established operating procedures and as directed by Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of restricted access labs.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment including Biosafety Cabinets (BSCs), incubators, water baths, vacuum traps, autoclave and others as assigned.
- Support refilling incubator water and defrosting of freezers as needed.
- Responsible for the preparation of cleaning/sanitation solutions and cleaning materials to specifications.
- Accurately document solution prep and cleaning activities in logbooks according to Good Documentation Practices
- Maintains accurate and complete inventory of cleaning supplies ensuring supplies are never depleted or expired.
- Report any observed equipment or facility deficiencies to the Facilities team for remediation.
- Adheres to all regulatory and compliance requirements defined in Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs)
- Attend and complete all training required by Company SOPs, procedures, and policies.
- Follow all *** safety policies and always put safety as top priority. Escalate issues when clarity is needed on scope, safety precautions and other concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies including FDA, OSHA, EPA, Fire Department, City Codes, Health Department, etc.
Physical Demand:
- Must be able to work around various cleaning chemicals that produce non-hazardous odors like bleach and vinegar (acetic acid).
- Must be willing to work in a lab environment with radioactive materials present. Proper training will be provided, and controls are in place to ensure employee safety.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. repeatedly, stand for hours at a time and to squat, bend, kneel, and or reach for 80% of a shift.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with and knowledge of cGMP practices is preferred
- Reliable mode of transportation
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedule
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend documents in Standard English such as Standard Operating Procedures, operating manuals, and company & safety policies.
- Ability to work in a lab environment where Biohazardous & Hazardous materials may be in use.
- Physically capable to don and wear protective gowning and equipment, including but not limited to gowning, goggles, face shields, respirators, and protective gloves.
- Schedule Flexibility – this is a 30+ hour per week role with a preferred evening / night availability. Able to infrequently work over-time, weekends and holidays.
