THE JOB
A Good Evans front-of-house manager is responsible for ensuring that our guests receive warm and friendly service, and that staff work efficiently and effectively. The front-of-house manager assists in the daily operations of the restaurant, including scheduling, training, and guest relations. This position directly reports to the General Manager of the Good Evans location.

- Provide positive leadership to a team, manage the tasks and functions that need to be accomplished to run a profitable and successful restaurant and hold the front-of-house team accountable under the leadership and direction of the General Manager.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate the front of house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders.
- Ensure that all guests are greeted promptly and courteously, and that orders are taken and delivered accurately and timely.
- Monitor the quality and presentation of food and beverages and communicate with the kitchen manager and kitchen staff to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Create and implement staff schedules and adjust as needed according to business volume and staff availability. Control the elements that contribute to a cost of labor range that falls within budget for the Company.
- Train new and existing staff in customer service skills, menu knowledge, safety procedures and company policies.
- Handle customer complaints and feedback in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure that the restaurant is clean, safe, and comfortable for guests and staff at all times.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and standards.
- Oversee the completion of all side work duties by front-of-house server staff.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s or associate degree in hospitality management or related field preferred. At least 2 years of experience in a front-of-house management role in a restaurant or hotel setting is preferred. Knowledge of food and beverage service, menu planning, inventory control and budgeting.
Relational and Language Skills: Respectful and team-oriented personality. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead a team under pressure and in a fast-paced environment and direct multiple tasks.
Mathematical and Computer Skills: Excellent math and computer skills. Must be capable of learning and becoming proficient in the accurate use of the technology utilized by the Company to perform the position such the KDS (kitchen display system) and POS (point of sale system).
Emotional Demands: Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Knowledge of food and beverage menu items. The ability to communicate respectfully to all restaurant staff and customers under pressure and follow recipes and instructions accurately and consistently. While performing the duties of this job, the front-of-house manager is regularly required to listen, instruct, and give directions, verbally communicate with restaurant staff and management, and maintain a good attitude and outlook under pressure.
