Salary Range: $62,937 - $90,000
Engineering evaluation and testing of Navigation systems and GPS receiver systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide engineering analysis and evaluation of navigation and GPS receiver systems. Perform tests in laboratory environments of aircraft navigation and GPS systems. Provide engineering expertise and recommendations to Government program and project managers.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelors degree plus 2 years of experience.
Must be able to obtain at least an interim security clearance before starting.
Knowledgeable about GPS receiver aircraft integration requirements and military civil derivative aircraft use of GPS/GNSS.
Knowledge of GPS receiver integration into an aircraft avionics navigation system
Familiar with SOWs, specifications, and test plans- GPS antenna and GPS receiver avionics preferred
Knowledge of civilian navigation system CNS/ATM requirements and aircraft certification
Ability to perform a GPS civilian receiver market survey of current and future systems
Ability to evaluate/compare competing capabilities of GPS receivers found during the survey
Ability and experience to understand the FAA GPS receiver MOPS RTCA DO-229 for Global Positioning System/Satellite-Based Augmentation System Airborne Equipment
Experience with GPS antenna and receiver operation and integration
Desired Skills:
Experience with GPS anti-jam antenna operation and integration with a GPS receiver into aircraft
Laboratory and analytical experience evaluating ITAR controlled DoD Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers
Experience in testing GPS/GNSS avionics and non- DoD ITAR controlled receivers
