About the role
You will join the Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) department at Intervene K-12. C&I plays a key role in the success of virtual tutoring and interventions by delivering high-quality educational experiences, ensuring student learning and growth, and driving innovation in online education.

Are you passionate about education and dedicated to crafting engaging and culturally relevant curriculum for 3-12 grade students? We are seeking a creative and experienced Curriculum Writer to join our dynamic team at Intervene K-12. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in math and ELA instruction, with a focus on developing materials that resonate with students of different backgrounds and promote inclusivity.
Responsibilities
Develop and write comprehensive curriculum for 3-12 math and ELA (English Language and Literature).
Integrate culturally relevant content that reflects the experiences and contributions of various communities.
Create engaging lesson plans that cater to a variety of learning styles.
Collaborate with educators to tailor curriculum to specific classroom needs.
Ensure all materials meet state and national educational standards.
Continuous learning and research on industry best practices and how different learning standards cater to various student populations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in grades 3-12 curriculum writing for math and ELA.
Strong understanding of culturally responsive teaching practices.
Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive instructional decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Experience with educational technology and digital learning platforms preferred.
Curious and innovative approach, able to challenge the status quo and propose as well as execute new ideas to better serve students’ learning needs
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to pass a background check required.
Availability to start immediately.

Along with your application, we require candidates to submit a lesson sample:
Select a Common Core standard from ELA or Math for 7th grade. Develop an engaging sample lesson (3-6 slides) using PPT or similar. The students this holistic lesson targets are part of a school in a US urban city, 90% of them are African American and 10% are English Learners from Angola. The lesson should incorporate broader skills beyond academics (i.e. social emotional learning, leadership qualities, community role models).
